Beyond Body Groups
Year-Round Adolescent &
Young Adult Support Groups:
Ages: 13-17 & 18-25 (two separate groups)
Cost: $50/week
Join your peers each week to chat about the trials and tribulations the week held and come up with strategies to support one another. This group is not intended to substitute individual therapy, but rather as a supplement, or perhaps as a start to initiate the road toward healing. Everyone is at a different place in their process of body acceptance or eating disorder recovery. This is a safe place to unleash the struggles and the successes to help fellow group members reach their fullest potential while learning a thing or two about body liberation along the way.
“The purpose of your life is not to be an ornament to be looked at, but to do and feel and contribute…” -Taryn Brumfitt, Embrace the Documentary
Six-Week Summer Group:
Ages: 14-17
Cost: $360
Each week participants will meet with Lexie or Madison in the park to share personal experiences, relate to one another, and learn the steps necessary to find peace with their bodies. Participants will work their way through processing: their family genetics, how the physical body is effected by extreme means (diagnosable eating disorders, excessive exercise or high intensity exercise without proper fuel, low calorie/carb diets, binge/restriction cycles, etc), how the media has effected the way we view ourselves, breaking down what leads to the need for change, & MORE! With the impact of social media on teens’ lives today, the Beyond Body Summer Series can be exactly what you or your child needs to boost internal confidence. Meet us in the park for six weeks of exploration and good times.
“We live in a world where people are trying to change their bodies and judge your body. It was important to me to have peers in a space where we don’t do that to each other.” -past participant
Young Adult 8-week Group:
Ages: 18-24
Cost: $460
Each week participants will meet with Lexie or Madison at their office for a safe space to share highs and lows and learn about the diet-culture we live in today. Participants will work their way through processing: their family genetics, how the female body has changed through the decades, how the physical body is effected by extreme means (diagnosable eating disorders, excessive exercise or high intensity exercise without proper fuel, low calorie/carb diets, binge/restriction cycles, etc), how the media has effected the way we view ourselves, breaking down what leads to the need for change, & MORE! College can be a tough time for young adults as they navigate living without their parents for the first time and so too can the first year post- graduating college- change is challenging! Sometimes these changes lead to an increase in disordered eating behaviors and poor self-esteem. This eight-week series is a great fit for those looking to feel more comfortable in their skin alongside a group of others working through the same journey. Meet us at the office for eight weeks of exploration, getting to know like-minded folks, and good times.
