“Therapy is Expensive, Should I Really Budget for This”:
Trust me, I get it. I have paid for my own therapist for many years and use to wonder the same thing. As someone who is a huge proponent of prioritizing our mental health, happiness, sanity, and overall emotional well-being, the short answer is absolutely.
You are on my page for a reason. There is something you’re struggling with; whether it be body-image related thoughts taking over your day, calorie counting eating you alive (no pun intended), familial stress that feels like it’s becoming unbareable, or angst that has become your new normal, something has you wondering if talking to a licensed professional would be helpful. As one of those licensed professionals, I can only share my own experience when answering this question: I help my clients work through their struggles, tease through their sometimes dysfunctional thought patterns, and find the path to a brighter tomorrow on a weekly basis. The shift that takes place as a result of better understanding your behaviors, motives, relationships, and beliefs, is profound. Giving yourself the gift of therapy, of speaking with an unbiased individual that can help you better understand all of these things and more, in my humble opinion, is well worth-it. Take a moment to think about if you are just going through the motions of life, or if you are truly living throughout each of those moments. If you feel like you’re not present in your daily life, therapy might be [at least part of] the answer!
If you think we could be the perfect fit for one another, but the fees below simply won’t fit into your budget and you don’t have BCBS- I never want cost to be what prevents someone from seeking my services. Please don’t hesitate to inquire about my reduced-rate session availability.
50-60 Minute Initial Consultation Session: $180
45-50 Minute Sessions (most common): $130
90-Minute Sessions*: $195
30-Minute [Phone] Check-In: $75
80-Minute Dine-Out Therapeutic Meal*: $195
Reduced-rate sessions are an option, subject to availability
I ACCEPT ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS, HSA & FSA CARDS, DEBIT CARDS, CASH, AND CHECKS.
SESSION RATES ARE THE SAME FOR IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL SESSIONS.
*: private-pay only, or subject to an out-of-pocket add-on fee for insurance clients. Questions about these tailored services? Fill out my contact form and I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
You might wonder, WHY IS THE INITIAL CONSULTATION $50 MORE THAN REGULAR SESSIONS? Our first session together is typically 10-20 minutes longer (they regularly run overtime) and the paperwork that follows is much more time consuming than other sessions, for this is the first time we’re meeting. In order to ensure a holistic approach to your journey, there are also moving parts to coordinate after those first few sessions…there’s more happening behind the scenes that goes into therapy than we realize!
I AM IN-NETWORK WITH BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF MICHIGAN:
Please check your current policy to see if mental health services are covered and to better understand your deductible and out-of-pocket requirements, including co-pays and other potential fees you may be responsible for. Aside from potential co-pays, if you have a comprehensive policy and have met your deductible, your session will be covered in full. If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield through a different state: the reimbursement process is slightly different. I won’t bill directly, but I am happy to provide a Superbill, see below, for you to send in for reimbursement.
FOR THOSE WITH OTHER INSURANCE PROVIDERS*:
I am more than happy to provide clients with a Superbill, a detailed invoice, of our sessions, in hopes that your insurance company will reimburse you for a percentage of my fee. This percentage varies depending on your specific policy and your insurance company’s requirements for out-of-network providers. I have had several clients receive reimbursement ranging from 30-80% of my session rate.
*: I CANNOT GUARANTEE REIMBURSEMENT AS AN OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER.
